In recent years, she feels most strongly connected to socially conscious work that addresses real social issues in a way that provides a space to challenge and work alongside these issues and not choose to stay oppressed by them. Janeena still has a lot to learn and is always looking to expand her reach and knowledge so she is extremely thankful to all her colleagues and mentors at the NJ Play Lab for providing her with this opportunity to connect and grow within this artistic and impactful community. Janeena Piñero is currently studying acting at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City.

During the Storyteller Studio, Janeena led a workshop of exercises from Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed pedagogy.
